Service 1999-2000
A Year in Review |
|
One of the important aspects of Vocational Service is providing members with the opportunity to share their professional life stories through a Classification Talk prior to introducing the meeting program that each club member is responsible for. |
||||||
| Continuing our tradition of strong support in the area of Literacy, the club raised $500 which was donated to the STAR Literacy Program through their Book Shower Drive. | ||||||
| The Vocational Services Committee again selected an outstanding teacher of the year. The club waives membership dues for the year, encouraging the teacher to attend and bring students. Through BJHS's matching fund and a financial donation by our club, a digital camera was purchased to enrich the student's Art education. | ||||||
| Our scholastic program continues with a student at Heartland Community College, providing full tuition for 2 years. | ||||||
| Several club members participated in round table discussions with students of the Bloomington Area Vocational Center during a lunch a Jumer's. Topics ranged from proper table manners and discussions to the hopes and aspirations of the student involved. | ||||||
| Two separate career day presentations were made at Bloomington High School, also attended by Several Club members. | ||||||
