Service 2000-2001
A Year in Review |
|
Club Service continued this year with a strong membership drive. We had twelve new members in 2001. Our membership committee led by Todd Asper continued with the process that was developed the previous year. Our biggest achievement this year was getting social events on a monthly time schedule. The organization chart continues to be a strong point in demonstrating to new members how this club is run. Our Annual Christmas Party was hosted by Tim and Mary Kay Southey this year. Again, wonderful food provided by CJ's Catering. The house was a cinch to find. All you had to do was look for spectacular lights wrapping the home and trees in sparkling holiday cheer! From reports gathered at the event, everyone really enjoyed the festivities ... great food, great decorations, great company. This year's Superbowl Party was hosted by Dennis and Robin Brtva. Again, Roger Elliot's chili was the highlight at the food counter. We were also entertained by a whopping rendition of the National Anthem and indulged in a bit of gaming to add interest to the battle being fought on the football field. This spring we had our third annual trip to Gibson City's Bayren Stube. As in previous years, partaking of the outstanding German fare and having a lot of fun singing and entertaining each other. Finally, as we had set our hopeful sites last year to continue to participate in memorable events and engaging activities, we had a great dinner at La Petite Bistro in April. Later in the year we helped out in the Fund Raiser for Easter Seals tossing around beach balls at the Parrot Head Party held at Jack's Lake Road Inn at Lake Bloomington. So much to look forward to in the year to come! | ||||||
