Club Service 1999-2000

A Year in Review

Club Service took a strong lead in a membership drive this past year.  Rex Schaeffer, the president of BNSR 1999-2000, made it one of his primary goals.  Consequently, A subcommittee was established.  With the leadership of Todd Asper, a process was put in place.  Due to his vision, our membership is at its highest since the inception of the club.

Our biggest achievement for the year was the development of a flowchart of Sunrise Rotary.  The flowchart shows the various board members' and director's names, the members on their committees, as well as the area of responsibility of each one's position.
Our second achievement for the year was the development of an actual process for membership.  This includes taking prospective members out for lunch, showing them our Rotary flowchart and Rotary pamphlet.
Our annual Christmas Party was graciously hosted by Bill and Jean Baird at their home with a great catering job done by CJ's.  As always, a fun and enjoyable time for all at that special time of year.
With the end of the football season, another exciting Super Bowl party at the home of Sandy Mercier along with a fabulous chili prepared by Roger Elliot to warm us up before the game!

Then this past Spring, we scheduled two road trips to attend meetings in Gibson City and Piper City.  We experienced terrific German food, drink and hospitality at Bayern Stube in Gibson City.  Piper City provided an experience not too soon forgotten by any of us at the "As Is" establishment.  both memorable, engaging, and informative events appreciated by both groups!  We are hoping to do more of the same type activities in the year to come.
