Club Service
Rotary's first Avenue of Service is regarded by many Rotary leaders as the most important part of the club's objective, because without a vitally functioning club, little else can be performed via the other three Avenues of Service.  A significant distinction between Club Service and the other Avenues is that Club Service is directed toward the internal functioning of the club, i.e. to maintain the health and vigor of the club while the other Avenues are directed outward toward the community and the world.
The purpose of Club Service is the successful administration of the club.  Members do this by regularly attending meetings sponsoring new members, participating in fellowship, taking part in programs, serving on committees and on the board of directors, and representing the club in outside activities.  The latter includes informing the public about the object of Rotary, speaking at other clubs, attending inter-city meetings and District conferences, and helping to organize new Rotary clubs.
